On the first of november, Magnus Nilsson took over as the new site manager in Gällivare. He has been with Gisab since 2016, as a project manager and supervisor. Born and bred in Gällivare, the 42-year old har previously worked at NTT, Vibrationsteknik and Pumpservice. Away from work, he spends time with the family, watches ice hockey and plays disc golf.
When asked about the things the Gällivare branch do, he mentions work being performed for LKAB in Malmberget and the midlife service of drills being performed together with Epiroc in Aitik. He also speaks passionately about the modern components workshop I Gällivare.
”I have been part of building this workshop, and now it is time to re-launch it efter the challenges of the pandemic. Our machines are great, but primarily, we have an incredibly talented staff who are able to solve most challenges regarding industrial transmissions and bearings. We are ready to show the whole region our knowledge and capacity”, says Magnus Nilsson.
The industry is facing a green transformation, something that interests Magnus. He speaks about sustainability and of the importance to be att the forefront of this development. It is, however, not only the ecological aspects of sustainability that are important for a company involved in heavy industry.
”The most important part of my job as a site manager, is making sure all of my employees comes home healthy and whole every day. I see safety as one of the most important parts of evolving the whole business”, says Magnus Nilsson.
